壮大さや美しさ、力強さを感じて、深い尊敬や畏れ、感動を覚える気持ち。

主に「何か壮大なものに圧倒されて畏敬の念を抱く」場合に使います。“awed by”は「〜に圧倒された」の意味。また「impressed」や「amazed」よりも格式が高い表現です。
