新しい情報・考え・文化などを完全に自分のものとして取り入れること。または、ある集団や社会の一部としてそのやり方になじむこと。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

学術的、文化的な文脈や科学などでよく使われる。'情報を同化する'、'新しい文化に同化する'などの表現が多い。やや形式的で、カジュアルな会話ではあまり使わない。元のアイデンティティを失うような否定的なニュアンスになることもある。
