Ashes वह धूसर या काला चूरा होता है जो किसी चीज़ के जलने के बाद बचता है। यह शब्द दाह-संस्कार के बाद बचे अवशेषों के लिए भी इस्तेमाल होता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

यह शब्द आम तौर पर बहुवचन रूप 'ashes' में ही आता है। आम जोड़ हैं: 'cigarette ashes', 'volcanic ashes', 'scatter the ashes' और 'rise from the ashes'। इसे 'ash' से न मिलाएँ, क्योंकि 'ash' एक प्रकार का पेड़ भी होता है।
