位置や時間、進歩の面で他より前にいる、または早いこと。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に日常会話や文章で幅広く使われる。「ahead of schedule」「ahead of everyone」などの形が多い。「in advance」（事前に）とは意味が異なるので注意。
