Definition

Aftershock एक बड़ा भूकंप आने के बाद उसी क्षेत्र में आने वाला छोटा भूकंप होता है। इसे किसी बड़े हादसे के बाद होने वाले असर के लिए भी बोल सकते हैं।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

मुख्यतः भूकंप से जुड़ी खबर या विज्ञान में इस्तेमाल होता है, पर आम बोलचाल में भी दुसरे घटनाओं के असर को बताने के लिए प्रयोग हो सकता है। 'Aftershock' गिनने योग्य है ('many aftershocks')। इसे 'aftermath' से न मिलाएँ।
