静脈瘤とは、静脈の壁が弱ったり血流が悪くなることで、脚や食道などに現れる太く腫れた静脈のことです。

医療用語で、単数形は『静脈瘤（じょうみゃくりゅう）』。脚のものは「下肢静脈瘤」、食道のものは「食道静脈瘤」と呼ばれます。日常会話では脚のものによく用います。
