Definition

他人の気持ちや困難に理解や思いやり、助けを示さないこと。

「mean」や「cold」よりも少しフォーマルな場面で使い、共感や慰めを示さない人・態度に使う。『共感できない上司』などの表現で使われ、性格の好き嫌いとは別の意味。

My manager was unsympathetic when I was sick.
