三つの丸い突起や葉のような部分がある形を表す言葉で、主に繊維やデザインで使われます。

主に技術的な分野（例：繊維、顕微鏡観察、デザイン）で使われます。日常会話ではあまり使いません。「trilobal fiber」「trilobal cross-section」のような言い回しが一般的です。
