Definition

किसी चीज़ को रंगने या उस पर दाग छोड़ने की प्रक्रिया, अक्सर कपड़े या सतह पर गलती से दाग़ या विज्ञान/कला में रंग लगाने के लिए।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

'staining clothes' जैसे रोज़मर्रा में भी और 'staining cells' जैसे वैज्ञानिक संदर्भों में भी आम है। सामान्यतः अवांछित दाग के लिए, पर विज्ञान में जानबूझकर किया गया रंगाई हो सकता है। 'painting' से न भ्रमित करें।
