小競り合いとは、少人数の間で予期せず発生する短時間の戦いや、小さな言い争いのことです。

軍事やスポーツの文脈でよく使われ、小さな争いだけでなく軽い口論にも使えます。「clash（衝突）」より軽い意味です。
