কিছু একটা কোনো স্থানে রেখে দেওয়া, অথবা কোনো তথ্য বা নিয়ম লিখে অথবা অফিসিয়ালি নির্ধারণ করে রাখা।

'set down' সাধারণ কথোপকথনে 'put down' এর মতো হলেও, অফিসিয়াল বা লিখিত নথিতে 'set down' বেশি ব্যবহার হয়, যেমন 'নীতিমালা set down করা হয়েছে'।
