정보나 경험을 바탕으로 앞으로 일어날 일을 말하는 것.

공식적이거나 과학, 기술 분야에 자주 쓰이지만 일상에서도 사용됨. 'guess'와 달리 근거가 더 있음. 'Experts predict', 'It's hard to predict'와 같이 자주 쓰임.

Scientists predict that the sun will rise tomorrow.

과학자들은 내일 태양이 뜰 것이라고 **예측한다**.
