刑事事件で、被告がより軽い罪を認めることで、重い罪を免除されたり、刑が軽くなる司法取引のこと。

主にアメリカなど英米法の国で使われる法律用語です。よく 'plead down to a lesser charge' という形で使います。受動態も多いです。
