“Pities”是“pity”的第三人稱單數形式，意思是對某人感到同情或憐憫他們的痛苦。

“Pities”較正式，多見於書面語和文學作品，常用結構為 ‘he/she pities someone’。不用來表示自憐。不要和 “pitied”（過去式）或名詞 “pity” 混淆。
