何かや誰かがあなたの手中にあるとは、その人や物があなたの支配下や権力下にあり、通常は好ましくない状況であることを示します。抜け出すのが難しい、または危険な状況によく使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

比喩的でやや劇的な表現。恐ろしい、悪意のある、逃れにくい力を表すために、物語や感情を表す場面で使われます。「clutches」は『爪』や『しっかりとつかむ』意味。フォーマル・技術用語ではありません。
