どこかを出発して旅を始める、特に車などの乗り物で長距離移動を始める時に使う表現。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

とてもカジュアルで口語的な言い回し。『“Let's hit the road!”』のように、長めのドライブや旅立ち時によく使う。近場の用事には使わない。
