相手を溺愛し、過度に愛情や世話を焼くこと。特に子どもや家族、ペットに対して用いられます。

主に親や祖父母が子どもやペットに過剰な愛情を注ぐ際に使われます。'dote on'のように人に対して使うのが一般的です。
