تغيير شيء ما بحيث لم يعد يمثل الحقيقة أو شكله الأصلي. غالبًا ما يشير إلى جعل الحقائق أو الأصوات أو الصور تبدو مختلفة عما هي عليه في الواقع.

يستخدم عند تغيير الحقائق أو الأصوات أو الصور بطريقة مضللة أو غير دقيقة. يُستخدم غالبًا مع عبارات مثل 'distorting the truth'، 'distorting your face'، 'distorting the facts'. أكثر رسمية من 'twisting' أو 'warping'.
