‘प्रतिनिधि’ वे लोग होते हैं जिन्हें किसी समूह द्वारा बैठक या कार्यक्रम में प्रतिनिधित्व करने के लिए चुना या भेजा जाता है। यह 'delegate' क्रिया का बहुवचन भी हो सकता है, यानी किसी को काम या ज़िम्मेदारी सौंपना।

संज्ञा के रूप में ये शब्द ज़्यादातर औपचारिक आयोजनों, राजनीति या संस्थाओं में प्रचलित है, जैसे 'सम्मेलन के प्रतिनिधि', 'राष्ट्रीय प्रतिनिधि'। क्रिया रूप (जैसे 'she delegates tasks') कार्यस्थल में अधिक होता है। ‘delegates’ (लोग) को ‘delegations’ (पूरा समूह) से न मिलाएँ।
