特定の話題について、賛成・反対の意見を出し合いながら、構造立てて話し合うこと。多くの場合、公式な場面で使われる表現。

学術・政治・メディアなど、公的な場面でよく使われます。「debate about」の後ろに話題が続きます。「argue about」よりも感情的でなく、より理論的な議論に使われる表現です。
