何かを誰かの目の前でぶら下げて、誘惑したり引きつけたりすること。たいていすぐには与えない。

実際に何かをぶら下げる場合も、比喩的に使うことも多い。『dangle a promotion in front of someone』のように、すぐに与えない提案などにも使われる。ややカジュアル。
