बैसाखियाँ विशेष छड़ें होती हैं जो घायल होने पर चलने में मदद करती हैं। इनको हर बांह के नीचे रखकर वजन संतुलित किया जाता है।

'Crutches' हमेशा बहुवचन में ही इस्तेमाल होता है। अंग्रेज़ी में 'on crutches' कहना चाहिए। कभी-कभी यह भावनात्मक सहारा (जैसे 'emotional crutch') के अर्थ में भी आता है।
