Expressão informal, usada em situações emocionais ou difíceis, tanto literal ('agarrar-se à corda') quanto figurada ('agarrar-se à esperança'). Pode ser confundida com 'hold on', mas 'cling on' destaca apego ou desespero. Geralmente vem com 'to': 'cling on to ...'.
