何かが突然壊れて倒れること、または圧力や要求に負けてしまうこと。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

建物や壁の物理的な崩壊（the roof caved in）だけでなく、精神的に折れる（cave in to demands）場合にも使う。精神面はややくだけた表現。
