Definition

ほんの少しの間、はっきり見えないまま何かや誰かを見ること。

物語や描写でよく使われる表現で、一瞬何かを見た時に使います。「catch a glimpse of the sunset」など、はっきり見えない短い出来事に使います。長時間やはっきり見た時には使いません。

I caught a glimpse of my friend at the concert.
