決定不做之前答應過的事，或從約定、承諾中退出。
Usage Notes (Chinese (Traditional))
屬於非正式用語，表示有人臨時改變主意或食言。常和 'back out of a deal'、'back out at the last minute' 搭配。並非指身體的後退，那情況用 'back away'。
