"after a fashion" in Japanese
なんとか一応
Definition
何かをしたが、あまりうまくいかなかったり普通のやり方ではない時に使う。意味は「なんとか」や「一応」など。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
やや古い表現だが今も使う。完璧ではない状態をやや皮肉っぽく伝える。文末でよく使われる。「ファッショナブル」とは意味が異なるので注意。
