〜の向こう側〜の反対側

Definition

特定の物や場所、壁などを挟んだ向こう側にあるものを表す表現です。

物理的な場所だけでなく、抽象的な境界を表す時にもよく使われます。「〜の」部分には対象の名詞が入ります。「across from」とは意味が異なります。

There is a park on the other side of the street.

通りの**向こう側**に公園があります。

My friend lives on the other side of the city.
