Se usa para describir algo físicamente en el cielo o, más comúnmente, para hablar de un sentimiento, idea o ambiente que muchas personas pueden percibir, pero que no se ve directamente.

Se usa mucho en sentido figurado, como en 'love is in the air'. Se refiere a un sentimiento general o ambiente. No confundir con 'on air' (al aire, radio/TV).
