Definition

果物や野菜などが最も美味しく、手頃な価格で手に入る時期。また、狩猟や漁が許可されている期間も指します。

主に果物や野菜の旬を表し、レストランや市場でよく使われます（例：「いちごは旬です」）。狩猟や漁業にも使われ、「狩猟解禁期間」という意味もあり。反対語は「out of season（旬ではない）」です。

Strawberries are in season now.
