何かが未定である、または結果が決まっていない状態で、どちらに転ぶか分からない時に使う表現です。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
ニュースやビジネスなど、ややフォーマルな場面でよく使います。「運命」「将来」「決定」などとよく組み合わせます。文字通りの「吊るす」意味では使いません。
