Definition

誰かに罪を着せるために、偽の証拠を用意したり嘘をついたりして、無実の人を犯罪者に仕立て上げること。

カジュアルかつ否定的な意味で使われる表現。「frame someone up」の形で使われることが多い。額縁の「frame」とは関係ないので注意。

They tried to frame up the innocent man for the robbery.

彼らは強盗の容疑で無実の男を**でっちあげよう**とした。
