Definition

কেউ যখন এত বেশি খায় যে বাড়ির সব খাবার প্রায় শেষ হয়ে যায়, সাধারণত মজা করে বলা হয়।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

এই অভিব্যক্তিটা মজা করে বা হালকা মেজাজে বলা হয়, বিশেষ করে যখন কেউ খুব বেশি খায় ('He's eating me out of house and home' মানে সে সব খাবার শেষ করে দিচ্ছে)। আক্ষরিক অর্থে বাড়ি হারানো বোঝায় না।
