ある物・人・場所が同時に2つの異なる役割を果たすこと；本来の機能に加えて他の用途でも使われる場合。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にカジュアルな会話で使われ、本来の役目以外にも使えるものを指す（例：ベッドにもなるソファ）。'as'の後に追加機能を述べる。『double』(2倍にする)とは違う。
