무엇인가 바로 아래 위치하거나 덮여 있는 상태. 겉으로 드러나지 않는 감정이나 진실을 나타낼 때도 쓴다.

'아래에', '밑에'는 모두 위치를 나타낼 때 쓸 수 있다. 'Underneath'는 'under'보다 더 강조되고 구체적이다. 실제 위치뿐 아니라 감정 등에도 쓴다.
