부플롯은 소설, 영화, 드라마 등에서 주된 줄거리와 함께 전개되는 보조적인 줄거리입니다. 보통 다른 인물이나 사건이 중심이 됩니다.

문학, 영화, 드라마 등 이야기 구조를 설명할 때 주로 사용합니다. 'main plot'과 함께 쓰이고, 수학 용어로는 거의 사용되지 않습니다.
