下請業者とは、元請業者から依頼を受けて、プロジェクトの一部の仕事を担当する会社や人のことです。

主にビジネスや建設現場、技術分野で使われます。「subcontractorsを雇う」「subcontractorsを使う」などの表現と共に使います。「supplier」や「vendor」とは異なります。
