두려움, 추위, 긴장 등으로 몸이 굳거나 경직되는 것. 주로 몸이 뻣뻣해질 때 사용함.

스트레스, 놀람, 추위에 대한 신체적 반응으로 자주 씀. 글자 그대로 또는 비유적으로 쓸 수 있음. 구어체에서 흔함. 'shoulders', 'body', 'face'와 함께 자주 쓰임.
