「rips」は主に布や紙の破れや裂け目を指します。口語では「とても速く動く」という意味でも使われます。

衣服や布などの破れを表すのが一般的です。「走る」意味でのスラングはあまり日常で使われません。「涙（cry）」の意味では使われません。
