글이나 문서를 실수나 내용을 더 잘 이해하기 위해 꼼꼼하게 읽는 것.

'read over'는 과제, 보고서 등 실수 확인이나 검토가 필요한 상황에서 자주 쓰인다. 단순히 '읽다(read)'보다 공식적이고 꼼꼼한 느낌을 준다. 'read through'는 대충 읽는다는 뜻이니 구분해야 한다.
