잡지나 저널처럼 정해진 주기로 발행되는 간행물을 의미합니다.

주로 학술, 도서관 또는 공식 문맥에서 사용되는 단어로, 잡지나 저널 등에 대해 씁니다. 일간 신문에는 사용하지 않습니다. 형용사로도 쓸 수 있습니다('periodical literature').
