相手に対して深い感謝を表す丁寧な言い方で、「ありがとうございます」と似ています。やや古風またはフォーマルな場面で使われます。

日常会話よりも、丁寧な文書や時代劇などで聞く表現です。現代では「ありがとうございます」が自然です。
