यह सबसे ज़्यादा विशेषण की तरह 'be' के बाद आता है: 'The hotel is located downtown.' यह लिखित, औपचारिक और जानकारी देने वाली अंग्रेज़ी में आम है। रोज़मर्रा की बातचीत में native speakers अक्सर 'is in', 'is on' या 'is near' जैसे आसान रूप ज़्यादा इस्तेमाल करते हैं। यह verb 'locate' का past form भी हो सकता है, जिसका अर्थ 'ढूँढ लेना' है: 'Police located the missing car.'
