Definición
কোনো বিষয়ের অর্থ বা ব্যাখ্যা বোঝানো হয়, যেমন লেখা, ঘটনা বা শিল্পকর্মের অর্থ ব্যাখ্যা করা। সঙ্গীত বা নাটকে কোনো ভূমিকা কেমনভাবে উপস্থাপন করা হয়, সেটাও বোঝাতে পারে।

'ব্যাখ্যা' বলতে বোঝানো হয়, একই বিষয়ে ভিন্ন লোকের ভিন্ন মত থাকতে পারে। 'strict interpretation', 'literal interpretation' ইত্যাদি প্রকাশে ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'translation' (অনুবাদ) থেকে আলাদা—'interpretation' সাধারণত অর্থ বোঝানো বা প্রকাশ মানে।
