ハッチウェイとは、床や壁、天井などにある開口部で、カバーやドアが付いていることが多く、地下室や船、屋根裏部屋などへの出入りやアクセスに使われます。

「ハッチウェイ」は主に船、地下室、屋根裏など専門的な場面で使われます。「ドア」や「トラップドア」よりも正式で大きめの開口部を指す場合が多いです。
