극장이나 식당 등에서 외투나 모자를 맡길 때 받는 보관증 또는 번호표로, 나중에 본인 물건을 찾아갈 때 사용됩니다.

주로 미국식 영어에서 쓰이고, 실제로는 극장, 호텔 등 외부옷 맡기는 곳에서 사용합니다. 일상에서는 잘 사용되지 않습니다.
