Bir şeyi bilerek yanlış biçimde değiştirerek gerçeği gizlemek veya daha iyi göstermek. Bazen doğrudan cevap vermekten kaçınmak anlamında da kullanılır.

Resmi olmayan, hafif olumsuz bir anlam taşır. "fudged numbers", "fudged the results" gibi ifadelerle sık kullanılır. Ciddi sahtekârlık anlamında değildir.
