ケーキやカップケーキ、クッキーなどの上に塗る、甘くてクリーミーなトッピングです。見た目や味を良くします。

主にケーキやデザート専用のトッピングです。特にアメリカ英語でよく使われ、『チョコレートフロスティング』『バタークリームフロスティング』などが一般的。「icing」よりも粘度が高くクリーミーです。和菓子には使われません。
