代わりを務めるかばう (秘密を守る)

Definición

一時的に誰かの仕事や役割を代わりに行うか、誰かの行動や失敗を隠すこと。

職場では「代わりを務める」として使うことが多い。「かばう」は秘密や失敗を庇う時に使う。単に物を覆う「cover」とは異なるので注意。

Can you cover for me at work tomorrow?

明日、職場で私の**代わりを務めて**くれる？

I will cover for you while you are on vacation.
