주로 문학이나 묘사에서 위협이나 위험이 점점 다가와 둘러싸는 장면(예: '늑대들이 먹잇감에게 다가왔다')에 쓰임. 일상에서는 거의 쓰지 않음. 'close in on'도 비슷한 의미.
